LIVING AND EXISTING

Living and existing is usually determined by several criteria’s among which are; the way you go about your daily activities, the way you carry yourself, the way you do and understand things around you and the your general perception of life determines if you are living or merely existing.
A person who is living would naturally have control over his or her entire life decisions and they determine the path their life takes, whereas a person who is merely existing usually take everything that is happening around them to be beyond their control without making any effort to direct their own path towards life.

None the less, when it comes to emotion, the existing one allow emotions like fear to determine what they can and can’t do, while the one who is living does not let such things to interfere with their decisions, abilities and life in general.  A person who is living life to the fullest is usually remembered for great things while an existing person is not remembered at all perhaps because, they were never known.  Would you rather live or merely exist?  Drop your comment.

TIME OR MONEY

Just like people often say; “Time is money”, which means that it would be difficult, if not impossible to choose between time and money this is because, they both work hand-in-hand and as a matter of fact, how much time you work determines how much money you get in  any working environment.

In order words, the only possible way of reconciling time and money would perhaps be by, finding a way to strike a balance between the two.  Although if I am meant to choose between time and money, I would choose time in as much as money seems the obvious choice, because, as long as one is alive there would always be more than enough time to work towards things that will earn one a lot of money in the future.

Despite that, if you look at my last sentence above, you will notice that; choosing time over money did not prevent money from coming into the picture, this simply shows that time and money are relevant and often cannot be easily separated.  Rather find a way to strike a balance between time and money, instead of choosing between them.

STRAYING YOUTH

The youth are the back bone and future of the nation, just as was stated in one of my previous posts titled; “The importance of the youth”.  The youth easily adapt to changing environment and advancements especially in technology.
That is to say that; whatever the youth set their mind on, they get it done at all cost, that could be as a result of their courageous and fearless attitude, which is why a huge chunk of the youth are involved in a lot of societal ills like; armed robbery, drugs and violence etc.  This shows how much the youth have strayed.

With the aforementioned in mind, how would the youth be regarded being that they are the future of the nation?  That is a question I would like us to ponder on, the youth especially.  Although, the answer is obvious because, the development of the nation would not be ensured, the reason being that, the supposed future generation is straying.  Let us all join hands and help our youth who have strayed to find their way again.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE YOUTH

The youth are very capable and active in deciding and adhering to the socio political development in a given society, they often make up the largest portion of the entire society, community, country or nation as the case may be.
Moreover, they are important perhaps because of their persuasive, energetic and courageous behaviour, they are the future of the nation that is why in almost every situation, the first people to sort for their support are the youth, probably because without their support whatever the government especially is planning will not be successful.

None the less, I implore my fellow youth to stand for development and success and deviate from violence because, violence does not bring development, and rather it destroys our efforts and that of the entire society and does not guarantee a successful future in any case.  The youth are very important and thus; whatever they do determines the future of our society.

THE EVIL THAT MEN DO LIVE WITH THEM

Back in the olden days, people used to say that; “The evil that men do live after them”, which I understand to mean that, when men commit atrocities during their lifetime, they do not reap the consequences of their actions, rather their children and future generations suffer for the sins of their fathers.
Believe it or not, it has now been rephrased as “The evil that men do live with them and not after them”, which means that; people who commit atrocities live to bear the consequences’ of their actions and not the other way around.

None the less, that is the way it should be, people who commit evil should live to bear the consequences of their actions rather than, involve innocent people simply because they are related.  We all have to be careful and think properly about the future effects our decisions and actions would cause and consider what it could do to our family and loved ones before indulging in atrocious acts and save ourselves the pain and shame.

CHILDREN ARE GIFTS FROM GOD

Children are gifts from God, if you don’t have after marriage, you become restless, worried and complain and if you do have children, you still worry and complain.  Whichever the case, worrying and complaining are present, although differs according to the situation respectively.
Therefore, if you are married without children, according to people’s experiences and the West African cultural perspective, you worry because there is a tendency that, your husband will take another wife to provide him with an heir, which makes it a tragic situation, simply because your husband and his people are not patient enough to wait for God’s time.

On the other hand, if you have children, you still worry about things like; the children’s education, up keep and future etc.  When they disturb unnecessarily as a result of growing up which in most cases is inevitable you complain as well, although the difference in this case is that, both the worrying and complaining is of joy because, when you look at the children you are grateful to God for giving them to you.  My sister and her children inspired me to write this piece.
