CHERISH WHAT YOU HAVE BEFORE IT’S GONE

                                        

It’s one thing to have something and entirely a different thing to know the worth of what you have.  Often time; it’s not because; you don’t care enough about knowing the worth of what you have, it could be the fact that, the possession of that specific thing is making you feel relaxed.

Although; the realization of the fact that, you have something that other people are desperate for, could be a motivational step into discovering the worth of what you have and that could inspire you to cherish and appreciate what you have.

Hence; if you don’t know the worth of what you have and appreciate it, it would be difficult to hold on to it and perhaps; when you lose it, your eyes will be opened to the real worth of that thing and it would become the “best thing you ever had”.

EMOTIONS DEVELOP OVER TIME

                                         

Developing an emotion for somebody is something that comes from within; it cannot be forced or be pushed to develop faster than the usual time it will ordinarily take to grow into the desired emotion.

Despite the fact that; emotions grow over time, the emotion one feels for family is something that one is born with, it is a skill and one cannot learn to love family because; that bond already exists and its inherent in every being I suppose.

Therefore; emotions are genuine when they take time to be nurtured and grow into a propelled bundle of feelings.  Although; life circumstances and occurrences’ could boost one’s emotion and it’s basically directed towards the endeavours and experiences of people over time.

CONVENTIONAL IS A GOOD FALL-BACK POSITION ISN’T IT?

                                            
           
I guess it is, because, it’s comforting and highly accepted by the society at large.  Although I doubt if it can get anyone far in a changing world such as ours, this is because, when challenges begin to show its face around a person who has gotten used to the fall-back position, it becomes a problem to cope.

Hence, hanging around the things and people you are used to all the time, will not give you the opportunity to experience the world, you will not learn anything new and it  will deprive you of so many opportunities in life.

None the less; being around other people enables you to get acquainted with new developments and knowledge that, will pave way for personal enhancement and growth.  Come out of you comfort zone, face reality and give change a chance.

WISHES OF A LAZY MAN

                                           

Oh, wish i was born with a silver spoon.
I wish i don't have to work before i eat.
I wish i would just wake up one day and everything would fall into place.
 
I wish manners would fall from heaven.
I wish to have a huge inheritance.
I wish, i wish and i wish some more.

Shame, if only wishes were horses.
If only wishes would put food on the table.
If only wishes could replace hardwork then and only then would the wishes of a lazy man come to past.

REAL FREINDS

                                            

Good friends are hard to find and when you find any hold on to them, do whatever it takes to keep them, no matter how high the stakes are.  After all, friendship is all about making sacrifices.

Good friends do not allow distance to be a barrier between them; they break the distance through constant communication.  Yea, I know sometimes that may not be enough but; it surely helps to maintain communication that will keep the friendship together.

Moreover, real friends are understanding, patient, tolerant and loving etc.  They come into your house and say, “hello am home”, they are the reason you don’t have any food (*Winks*) and they spice up your life.   Appreciate your real friends always.

YOU NEVER LEFT ME

                                       

I don’t see the reason why you love me, I can’t understand it, even when I was foolish going my way, you still loved me and I can’t say why or what I have done to deserve it.  Your love is rich in glory and abundant in my life.

You have shown me that no matter what the situation and circumstances, you will always be there because; you never abandon your own and the people you care about and died on the cross of Calvary to secure their salvation.

Thank you very much for counting me worthy to be your child, even in my imperfections and shortcomings, you always have a way of showing me that you love me unconditionally.  Thank you Lord because you never left me at any point, you were there every step of the way.

YOU CANNOT CHASE TWO RABBITS AT THE SAME TIME

                                  

This is quite an interesting and a very realistic title, very well describes people who think they can run faster than their shadows.  Come to think of it, no one can run faster than their shadows in any way.

That is by the way, now focusing on the title of this post, two rabbits are two separate animals that will definitely not take the same direction when been chased and how can one catch two rabbits at the same time?

Well, I think all that is needed is to take it one after another, concentrate on one, after which you can go for the other.  That is exactly the same way the circumstances that live throws at you should be treated, taking it one step at a time and gradually everything will be sorted.  Attempting to tackle everything at the same time may lead to not achieving any at the long run.  Be focused, and precede one after the other.  After all, it’s better to have one rabbit than loose both.

YOU CAN DO BETTER

                                           

If there is something you are not doing right today and everything you do seems to go wrong, there is a reason behind it, for even realizing that, you are wrong indicates the start of a new dawn.

A dawn of; realizations, acceptance, responsibilities and determination, it arouses the feeling of “you can do better”.  Realizing that you are wrong and accepting where you went wrong shows that, you are determined to make things right and do better.

The feeling of believing that you can do better is established on a personal basis, no one can decide that for you, no matter how much they try.   After all, “you can only take a horse to the stream but, you cannot force the horse to drink” you can do better, believe it and live it.

WANNABE

                                        

According to the urban dictionary; a wannabe is a poser, follower and a charlatan of sorts.  One who copies or imitates all or most of the aspects dealing with their idol. They may wish to have certain clothing, skills, vocabulary, etc., of their idols instead of their own.  Most likely a wannabe is lacking self-confidence and is looking for guidance.

A wannabe would rather  do what other people are doing just to belong and to be noticed although; that may be as a result of low self-esteem that is; not being able to trust and believe in your own abilities and always feeling inferior around your friends.

Besides; these wannabes are not doing this because; they enjoy it, they are having issues with their self-esteem and confidence and whether they admit it or not, they need help so as to work on their self-esteem and confidence and learn to be a person of their own.  If you come across a wannabe guide and help them rather than, criticise them.

GOD’S LOVE FOR US

                                           

God’s love for us is irreplaceable, a love that can never be traded by anybody because, it is the greatest love of all that no mankind can give you except that one person who sits on the throne in heaven.

His love is merciful, despite our sins He still loves us and always ready to forgive us our sins, even when we haven’t asked for forgiveness He forgives and gives us a second, third, fourth, fifth chance and even more to repent. 

His love is abundant and infinite, because God’s love is sufficient for all mankind, He loves us even when we dwell so much in sin, He never takes His love away because, God’s gift of love is the best.  Ask yourself, do I deserve this kind of love? Leave me a comment.

BLAMES

                                            

This is one thing I can boldly say that; a lot of people despise with a passion; often times people just feel very uncomfortable taking the blame for something, if everybody refuse to take the blame for their actions and mistakes, who will do it for them? I guess no one because it’s irrelevant.

Although; I personally do not believe in apportioning blames to other people because; blaming people would not solve the situation, neither would it change what has been done in any way.

It is better to think ahead, when a bad incident occurs, it is irrelevant to blame people because, the time and energy wasted on blaming and arguing would be more than enough to think of possible solutions to resolve the issue.

“NOTHING IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN AN IDEA, WHEN YOU ONLY HAVE ONE IDEA" (ALAIN)

                                                
        

This quote was given by Émile-Auguste Chartier who was commonly known as Alain, he was a journalist, a philosopher and a pacifist who was born on March 03, 1868 in Mortagne-au-Perche, France  and died on June 02, 1951.

I love this quote because; it’s realistic and it relates to our everyday day lives, whether we admit it or not, an idea is very dangerous in the sense that; it can leave a person stranded in the middle of something especially without a backup idea or plan, thus regarded as the plan B, failure and disgrace is inevitable in this situation.

Nonetheless; a smart person will always make plan A alongside with a plan B or even a plan C etc.  This is usually because the outcome of a single idea often cannot be predicted and it is very good to prepare for the unexpected or the worse by planning for them, that way; you will always be sorted in difficult situations.

THE INTRUDER

                                        
                                         

According to the online dictionary, an intruder is a person who tries to put or force in inappropriately, especially without invitation, fitness, or permission, this means that an intruder is somebody who enjoys invading other people’s privacy and pushing to be a part of other people’s business when they are not permitted or obliged to do so.

It overwhelms me when, I see adults who fall into the category of making other people’s business their priority, it’s indeed a very childish and immature act, but then just like they say “maturity is not of age but of the mind” meaning that; one’s age and size is not a criteria to measure their level of maturity.

Nevertheless; i do not believe in making other people’s business my concern because; it’s their life and their business and if they often do not want me to be a part of it, I respect that, although some people may enjoy intruding into other people’s affairs and most likely do not care if they are intruding or not and believe it or not it’s a very lame thing to do and often against the law I guess, and it’s called “invasion of privacy” and punishable by law therefore; intruders beware.

MY PEER EDUCATORS EXPERIENCE

                                           
                                           

            
When I was in high school, during my senior high to be précised, I did training with the UNICEF representatives who came to my school for outreach programmes on educating the youth on different issues of importance, ranging from; overall knowledge on puberty, peer sexuality and how to handle peer pressures of any form.

During this training, I realised that; the youth had a lot of issues ranging from; sexually peer related pressures and bullying, the most emotional part of this training was when, I came in contact with youths facing this problems on a face-to-face basis, listening to them, while they narrated how helpless they felt in the situation and disappointedly how afraid they were to speak to their parents about sexually related issues.

Nonetheless; after that experience I realised how relevant it is to give a listening ear to youths who are faced with issues like that without criticism, because; judging them would only make matters worse and scare them away from talking about such issues with people they should talk about them with (Their parents).   Therefore; parents should endeavour to pay critical attention to their children in matters like this, because; there is a tendency that; they would be getting bad advice elsewhere if parents often careless or criticize their children on sexually related issues, often believing that; they are too young to be discussing such matters.

MY FIRST JOB

                                                 

Let’s talk about my first job in South Africa, Cape Town to be précised, when I first came to Cape Town in 2011, I was feeling so home sick that I wished to go back home to my family but; then I realised that going back would be a huge disappointment to the people I care about and it would be a total waste of time and money.

Besides I was yet to start my B-Tech so, I decided to put together a CV and go in search of a job, something to keep me busy for the main time, luckily for me i got one soon enough and to my greatest surprise, my colleagues’ were so unfriendly and upset at first, for the facts that; I was being dedicated towards my job responsibilities and that really scared me a great deal.

Soon enough I was promoted ahead of the old employees who were there before me as the duty manager, then the jealousy sets in, it was all strange to me.   Although; the more time I spend in South Africa, the more I began to understand certain things, the point in this whole story; emphasizes on the need, to be determined in all that you do and never let the jealousy  and hostility of other people change who you are or stop you from doing what is right.

HAVE YOU FIGURED OUT THE SECOND HEAD FAKE?

                                                

This title was the last lecture given by Randy Pausch after he was being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and having only a few months to leave, he was a Professor of Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, and Design at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States and a best-selling author, who achieved worldwide fame for his speech.

He described the second head fake as a process that involves learning something without even knowing it, otherwise known as indirect learning.  He tried to explain the second head fake in different ways, but; one aspect of his lecture that really got me thinking was; where he said that; “the brick walls are there for a reason.  The brick walls are not there to keep us out; the brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something.  The brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough”.

That quote made me believe that; when you really want something, you must act in a way that shows that; you really want that thing regardless of the stakes, the brick walls are the challenges that comes along while you are chasing your dreams and if you are not strong and determined enough, you will lose your way and perhaps; learn from the experience eventually.

CELEBRATING WOMEN

                                                 

Just like they say; “behind every successful man there is a woman”, that goes without saying; how relevant women are in the life’s of men in general, considering the fact that; God created a woman out of the ribs of the man, which means that; a woman is a part and parcel of the man.

Therefore; a man is perhaps completely nothing without a woman by his side to assist and support him in all that he does, I didn’t make the rules, God did and that makes women very powerful in the society.

Nevertheless; women must carry their self with pride and respect and never let anyone abuse or disregard their worth because; the way you present yourself determines how the men will treat you.  This is to all women out there, be strong and courageous knowing that you deserve to be celebrated, be a proud woman and happy women’s month.

I am not just an ordinary woman; I am unique in my own special way, I am an ambassador of love, because; I believe so much in the power of love.

I am a woman of peace and great virtue; I am not afraid to express myself at any point, I am a woman who is passionate about her dreams and never gives up on them no matter what.

I am a child of God; I trust and believe in my creator (God), I am full of zeal and the determination to succeed in whatever I do, I am a hard worker, a motivator, a lover of goodwill and good news and I have a positive influence on people.

GIVING THANKS

                                               

How many of us wake up in the morning and just give thanks to God without asking Him for anything?  I guess not all of us, most of the time; we are caught up in the list of things we want God to do for us, and practically forgetting that it is apparent to say thanks to Him all the time.

That we are alive and even able to make that list of request is by His grace, without his approval, we may not be in the best position to even make the list in the first place, in as much as it’s important to be specific with God when you want something, it is also good to put all that aside sometimes and just give Him thanks for all we have because; he can see through our hearts and knows exactly what our problems are.

Nevertheless, put God first, forget all your worries and challenges by waving them aside just to say thanks, and God will know that; it is really coming from a sincere heart and accept it.  There is time for everything; time to give thanks and time to ask for favors, therefore; do not ask for favors when you should be giving thanks to your creator.
