AM ALMOST EIGHTEEN MOM!

                                                         After all,''Am almost eighteen''.

Am almost eighteen mom!  That is the usual phrase used by teenagers. Teenagers are in such a hurry to go into the world, see the world, sow their wide oats, but they basically forget that almost eighteen is not the same thing as eighteen. Is either you are eighteen or you are not, I do not believe such a thing as almost.

The mere thought of being eighteen is overwhelming to most teenagers, while it is scary for some. I was in a taxi the other day, when I overheard two teenagers talking about what they are going to do on reaching eighteen couldn't help but listen to them.  One of them said that, she cannot wait to be eighteen as she was not going to listen to her mom or anybody anymore, that she will get a boyfriend and do anything that pleases her. While the other told her that being eighteen is not a guarantee for them to do anything they like as it will not do them any good.

Believe it or not it's indeed over whelming, such a teenager that is planning on all the wrong things to do when she is eighteen, shows that the mere thought of having that freedom and independence is already intoxicating her, and if nothing is done about it she might end up on the wrong road.

Most teenagers tend to become either responsible or irresponsible while approaching that age. They are responsible depending on their upbringing and belief, these type of teenagers sees the age as a time to be responsible and plan their life as they will now be held responsible for their actions.  The other irresponsible ones sees the age, as a time for them to do whatever pleases them and scream at their parents using the normal phrase, after all am almost eighteen so, I can do whatever I want.

Shocking news for you, you are almost eighteen, but not eighteen and so, you should listen to your parents and hid to their words, because parents always know and want the best for their children, besides, the bible says:"Obey your father and mother, so that your days on earth will be long”.  Here is a word of advice for teenagers, if you want to live a long and prosperous life, obey and listen to the words of your parents, because those words are words of wisdom.  And the bible did not say stop listening to your parents once you are eighteen.
