LITTLE THINGS THAT MATTER

Sometimes we often feel less concerned about little things, but little do we know that; these little things matter a lot and can either lead to greater things or make the biggest changes we least expect, overlooking certain things we do not see as a big deal is not the way to go.
By little things I mean; forgetting a dear friend’s birthday and not knowing when a dear friend need you for comfort during an emotional trauma and yet, you claim to be a good friend.  These things look small like it’s never going to be a big deal, but the truth is that; as little as it may seem, it is very much capable of destroying a long term friendship for good.

Although; for some at a single omission of little things like I mentioned above, their friendship is as good as over, while for some other people, you have to make the same mistake over and over before they can understand that you are not a worthy friend, so; let’s not neglect the feelings, interest and affections of our friends and loved ones and always strive to prove to them that our friendship with them was never a mistake.  As a good friend you should be able to read through your friend and know when he/she needs you.

IF I AM WORLD FAMOUS FOR 15 MINUTES

I will grab the opportunity of being world famous for 15minutes with both hands because; it’s not every day that an ordinary civilian like me, get the opportunity to do something that is worth remembering by the whole world for that matter.  And I definitely want to be remembered for something good.
Therefore, I would make a difference through perhaps motivational talks with regards to abandoned babies and in as much as I cannot help them all at the same time, I would make sure that I put a smile on the face of a child in the motherless baby’s home; thereby motivating others on the importance of helping those who have dedicated themselves in the service of abandoned children.

I would do this little in 15mins and possibly be remembered for it for a long time because; that innocent little child would probably remember me for a long time and my motivational talk would perhaps linger on even after 15mins, because; the people who were touched would continue from where I stopped by; putting smiles on the faces of abandoned children and introducing others into the act which will make it an endless chain.

A SKILL SET CALLED LEADERSHIP

Leadership to my understanding is the ability to direct the affairs of a given group of people in order to achieve a common goal.  Leadership is a skill one is either born with or an acquired skill as the case may be, a good leader leads with; humility, obedience, charisma and patience etc.
Moreover, a person born with the skill to lead, usually leads with the aforementioned qualities that defines a good leader and more, this person is usually the people’s choice, take for example; Nelson Mandela, the way the people celebrate him shows how much of a good leader he was and still is even at present, one who is not afraid of making sacrifices and taking risks for the people and always ready to render selfless service to the people.

Nevertheless, leadership as a skill can be developed with the right knowledge and understanding, although, born leaders are still the best because; wherever they are an ordinary person can spot them out through the charisma they carry along with them even without knowing it.

THE SANDTON CITY

Ever since I arrived here in South Africa, one of the beautiful places I thought I should visit considering the way people talk about it is the Sandton City, although I have been to several beautiful places in the country and I must say that South Africa is a beautiful place.
Coming to Johannesburg for my holiday made visiting Sandton City one of my priority.  It’s indeed a beautiful city on its own; I can’t find the perfect word to describe the beauty of the city.  It felt so good and divine while I was there, seeing the beautiful buildings, large malls and beautiful things in Sandton City makes you fantasize as if you are in a fairytale land.

Although, being there and having no money to do justice to the nice things you see makes it worse, as the harsh reality of life automatically sets in and take you out of your fairytale imaginations.  Nevertheless, the beauty of the city motivated and made me determined to work hard and succeed in all I do, because for me that seems to be the only way to achieve all my heart desires.

A SENSE OF SATISFACTION

There is nothing as sweet as doing something that your heart wants you to do, most especially something that has been able to either benefit or touch somebody’s life somewhere, it usually gives me a sense of satisfaction knowing that I can touch a person’s life in a positive way.
Although some people may find it difficult letting other people in; the point is that; without going closer to people it may be difficult to touch other people’s life in a way that will be appreciated, because you need to go closer, listen, understand and not judge them before you can have the opportunity to change them for the better.

Nevertheless, it is better for your association with other people to be the reason for their positive change, because; it would mean that you are doing something right that is worthy of emulation and recommendation, rather than be the reason for their negative change of behaviour and in the end it will surely give you a sense of satisfaction.

CELL PHONE TEENAGERS

kate busy with her phone while the class is in progress.
I am assuming that; the primary reason why most parents buy their children cell phones at a tender age is basically to; keep in touch with their children and to be able to communicate with them at any given time, either through phone calls or text messages.
Although, what the teenagers do with their cell phones is really far from the primary reason why they have the cell phone in the first place, most at times when teenagers should be in bed sleeping or doing their homework, they stay glued to their cell phones doing God knows what and texting or chatting with God knows who; thereby drifting away from important things which is basically their education at that stage.

None the less, I am not insinuating that; all teenagers with cell phones drift away, what am trying to say is that; parents should make sure that, in as much as their children are in possession of a cell phone at a tender age, that it is not doing them any harm than good and that it does not distract them from actively participating in their academic work.

“ROCK JOURNALISM IS PEOPLE WHO CAN’T WRITE, INTERVIEWING PEOPLE WHO CAN’T TALK FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN’T READ” (Frank Zappa).

According to the urban dictionary; “rock journalism is the act of meeting with punk musicians to interview them for a zine before a concert, rocks out and head bang during the concert, parties with the musicians after the show, then retiring to a quiet room to write a review and write down the interview transcript word-for-word; one who suffers the worst case of rock hangover than anyone else in the scene”.  Anyone who practices this is called a rock journalist.
Therefore, if rock journalism is people who can’t write, it means that they can express themselves by asking questions verbally without any written word, being that they cannot write, they can meet their client or rock musicians on a face-to-face basis while someone either writes or records the interview in order to get their questions answered.

On the other hand, interviewing people who can’t talk for people who can’t read is of no use, because; people who can’t talk cannot reply any of your interview questions.  Moreover, it can only work if; the people who can’t talk can read and write, while people who can’t read can talk, otherwise, this whole quote by Frank Zappa makes no sense to me at all.
