This title was the last lecture given by Randy Pausch after he was being
diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and having only a few months to leave, he was
a Professor of Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, and Design at
Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States and a
best-selling author, who achieved worldwide fame for his speech.
He described the second head fake as a process that involves learning
something without even knowing it, otherwise known as indirect learning. He tried to explain the second head fake in
different ways, but; one aspect of his lecture that really got me thinking was;
where he said that; “the brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out;
the brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. The brick walls are there to stop the people
who don't want it badly enough”.
That quote made me believe that; when you really want something, you
must act in a way that shows that; you really want that thing regardless of the
stakes, the brick walls are the challenges that comes along while you are
chasing your dreams and if you are not strong and determined enough, you will
lose your way and perhaps; learn from the experience eventually.
